Guide for Authors

  • The Iranian Journal of Asian Studies (IJAS) accepts submissions that are written in Persian/Farsi or English. Persian/Farsi or English submissions should have an extended abstract that includes 600-700 words.

     IJAS takes only one type of submissions: Original Article The structure of the submission should include title, abstract, introduction, theoretical approach, research literature, discussion, conclusion and references.

A: Physical features

  • The size of the article (including all pages, title, abstract, body, conclusion and sources) should be at least 6000 and at most 10000 words in A4 format.
  • The margin of the article is 4.5 from left and right and 5.10 from top to bottom.
  • The English abstract should be submitted in about 600-700 words with the quality of a publishable translationTranslation through
  • Google and the likes are not acceptable.
  • Extended English Abstract — Submission Requirements

    Upon submission, and in addition to the short English abstract, authors must upload a single, separate file containing an extended English abstract prepared as follows:

    1. Length
      Provide no fewer than 600 and no more than 700 words.

    2. Scope and structure
      The extended English abstract must be a concise, self-contained synopsis of the article and comprise clearly labeled, distinct sections as follows:

    • Introduction and Objectives

    • Methods

    • Results and Discussion

    • Conclusions

    1. Section demarcation
      Each of the four headings must appear explicitly, with each section clearly distinguished from the others.

    2. Proportional balance
      Maintain a logical distribution of content across sections: approximately 20% Introduction and Objectives20% Methods50% Results and Discussion10% Conclusions.

    3. Keywords
      List five (5) keywords immediately following the abstract.

    4. Language quality (very important)
      If the abstract is translated from Persian, the English rendering must be precise, idiomatic, and publishable academic prosePreliminary machine translations (e.g., output from automated tools such as Google Translate) are insufficient and will not be accepted.

  • Abstracts should be in four sections: problem statement, main question and hypothesis, methodology, findings and results should be adjusted.
  • The number of keywords is between 5-7 words or a combination of words.
  • Latin word in a footnote. This includes English, Russian and other languages.
  • .Footnotes are numbered automatically on each page (key combination CTRL+ F + ALT) and should not be numbered manually.
  • Except for the introduction, conclusion and sources, do not mention titles such as chapters, sections, speeches, etc.
  • The title of any section should not be the same as the title of the article.
  • The conclusion of the article should not be a summary of the subjects and should state the results of the study and provide appropriate suggestions.

C: Referral guide

 

Please refer to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association  A.P.A (6th ed.).

 

  • The main text should be written with 1 line spacing by using 12 pt. 2 Lotus type font and paragraphs should be prepared without 1 indent paragraph spacing.
  • English footnotes should be written with 8 pt., the Times-News Roman type font, and single spacing. After the main text, the bibliography, which was written with 1line spacing and 10 pt.-type fonts, should be included.
  • Articles submitted to the journal for evaluation should not include the author(s) and contact information. This information should be included in the manuscript, which is to be prepared additionally.
  • The cover page should be uploaded to the system in Word format separately from the main text. After the title of the article is written with 12 pt. 2 Lotus type font in a justified page formation, under the title, name, and surname of the author(s), ORCID ID(s); under it, institution and department information; under it, contact information should be written.
  • The main text should start with the section of “1. Introduction”. In this section, the importance of the research, summarized information about previous researches on this subject, the main problem or hypothesis of the research, and the methodology of the research should be included and mentioned.
  • Main headings after the introduction should be numbered and written in bold type in the normal sentence layout. Sub-headings following main headings should be properly numbered and written in bold and italic type.
  • References of submissions sent to IRRJ should be prepared in accordance with the APA Manuel of Style.
  • All articles addressed to the journal should be uploaded in Microsoft Word format (not PDF).
