Abstract
Digital Silk Road, which was announced in 2015, has become an important part of the overall strategy of Beijing's Belt and Road Initiative. According to this initiative, China provides political, economic, and technological support to recipient countries, and the most important of which is the improvement of networks, telecommunications, providing artificial intelligence capabilities, e-commerce, and mobile payment systems, monitoring technology, smart cities and other assistance related to advanced technology fields.
This article aims to examine the position of the Middle East in China's Digital Silk Road initiative. Therefore, an attempt is made to investigate the position of the Middle East in the Digital Silk Road by using the theoretical approach of organizing the regional space based on inter-regionalism and with the qualitative research method. The question that will be answered is how China has tried to bring the Middle East countries into the Digital Silk Road? The hypothesis is that through improving the telecommunication networks of these countries, including the provision of 5G technology, the creation of smart cities, the expansion of e-commerce, and investment in the field of data centers in some Middle Eastern countries, including Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates has entered the Digital Silk Road.
