The South China Sea is of considerable importance due to its key position in global equations. In this regard, China's interests and capabilities in this watery land have expanded, and China's growing economic power and rapid military modernization could enable it to pursue its interests through force or coercion. China's neighboring countries and Washington are clearly concerned about China's intentions, as Beijing's military and economic capabilities continue to grow, which is considered a strategic threat to the interests of the South China Sea littoral states and the United States. The main question of the research is what is the US's perception of the threat of China's rise in the South China Sea? The hypothesis that can be put forward is that the increasing expansion of China's economic and military capabilities, along with its aggressive behavior in the waters of the South China Sea, is a strategic threat to the region and the United States' superior position in the pyramid of global power distribution. If these conditions continue, the global power equations will change to the detriment of the United States and its regional partners. Therefore, by sending equipment and forces to the disputed waters of the South China Sea and establishing relations with coastal countries, Washington has sought to block China's power and prevent it from becoming a regional hegemon in East Asia, which could lead to increased disputes and an arms race in the region. The result of the research is that China's increasing economic and military power in the South China Sea and its surrounding waters is a strategic threat to coastal countries and international actors, especially the United States. This has led the United States to seek to navally encircle Beijing and maintain the balance of power in favor of Washington and its regional partners in East Asia by expanding its presence in the South China Sea region and establishing relations with China's neighboring countries. The present research is qualitative and based on a descriptive-analytical approach. The South China Sea is of considerable importance due to its key position in global equations.
